Frequently asked questions

What are Foundation and Higher tier?
AQA GCSE Physics has two tiers. Higher tier includes some extra content, marked "HT only" on this site. Choose your tier in your account settings: Foundation students see Higher tier content collapsed, with a button to show it.
How are my answers marked?
Multiple-choice and numeric answers are marked instantly. Numeric answers accept small rounding differences and check your units. For written answers you see the mark scheme and mark your own work; Premium students can ask for AI marking instead.
Is this official AQA content?
No. This is an independent revision tool that follows the AQA GCSE Physics (8463) specification. All notes and questions are original and written for this site: they are not AQA past-paper questions. The site is not affiliated with or endorsed by AQA.
Why does my parent or guardian need to agree if I'm under 16?
If you're under 16, we ask a parent or guardian to approve your account before you can sign in. We email them to explain what the service does, what data we keep and how AI is used.
What does the AI tutor do?
The AI tutor is part of Premium. It answers questions about GCSE Physics from the AQA specification, giving hints and guiding questions first so you work things out yourself, and it can help with a question you have just answered.
Is there a limit on using the AI tutor?
Yes. Premium includes a monthly allowance of 100,000 tokens (roughly, pieces of words), shared between the tutor and AI marking. That is about 40 questions to the tutor. Your dashboard and the tutor page show roughly how many questions you have left and when the allowance resets.
What happens to my data?
We keep only what we need: your first name, email, month and year of birth, year group, tier and your practice results. You can download or delete your data at any time from your account page. See the privacy notice for full details.
How much does it cost?
Revision notes, practice questions, mock exams and your progress dashboard are free. Premium, which adds the AI tutor and AI marking, is an optional monthly upgrade.
Which devices can I use?
Any modern browser on a phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer. There is nothing to install, and there is a dark theme for evening revision.
How do the mock exams work?
Full mocks match the real papers: Paper 1 covers topics 4.1–4.4 and Paper 2 covers 4.5–4.8, each 1 hour 45 minutes and 100 marks at your tier. There are also shorter 45-minute quick mocks. The timer runs on our server, and you get your marks when you finish.
